Cascadia Art Museum is hosting their first holiday weekend this weekend, with events starting this evening. Looks like a lot of fun!

 

First Annual Holiday Weekend

Thursday, Dec. 3 to Sunday, Dec. 6

Join us for our very first holiday weekend, packed with deals and events for the whole family!

  • Enjoy a 10% discount for non-members in the museum store these four days only!  Members receive a 20% discount!
  • Thursday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. – 2 Hour Adult (11 and older) card making workshop with local artist Angela Bandurka.  Reservations are required.  Details below.
  • Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Free drop-in family card making workshop with Mona Fairbanks and April Richardson.  Details below.
  • Sunday at 1 p.m. – Weekly walk and talk with our curator David Martin, on the Vintage Christmas Card Show
  • Sunday at 3 p.m. – Slide show history of the Northwest Watercolor society led by David Martin.  Details below.
The Edmonds Christmas Trolley runs from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, offering free rides!

Thursday, December 3, 2:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Cascadia Art Museum Multi-purpose Education Room
Adult (11 and older) card-making class with Angela Bandurka as she guides students through the process of painting an ornament with acrylic paint on watercolor paper as a holiday card for single use or multiple reproductions, or, as a framed work.
Cost: $10. Supplies provided. Museum admission not included.  30 participant maximum.  Reservations are required by contacting Tara Shadduck atadmin@cascadiaartmuseum.org.

Saturday, December 5, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Cascadia Art Museum Multi-purpose Education Room
Family drop-in card-making class with art educators Mona Fairbanks and April Richardson as they guide instruction on two card making genres: watercolor stamp making with pen work, and, small run, native plant printmaking on a portable printing press.
Cost: Free with Museum admission. Supplies provided. (Children 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult.)

Sunday, December 6, 3 p.m. Cascadia Art Museum Multi-purpose Education Room
Curator David Martin will lead a slide show lecture on the history of the Northwest Watercolor society.  Cost is $5 for the public, members may attend for free.  Seating is limited, so it will be first come, first served.
